Bells secures another iconic London development

Bells Power Solutions is pleased to have secured yet another Iconic building within the City of London. Having already supplied and installed generation to major new buildings, such as the Broadgate Tower, Heron Tower and The Shard, we have been commissioned by Mace MEP to work at 60-70 St Mary’s Axe – nicknamed the ‘Can of Ham’.

Bells have been contracted to provide a turnkey generator solution consisting of 2 x FG Wilson P2250-1 11KV generators within a bespoke acoustic enclosure on Level 26 in the apex of the curved roof.

A complete fuel system will be installed throughout the building to include a 24-hour capacity bulk storage tank in the basement which will pump 100m vertically to the generator day tanks.

A PLC system will be installed, complete with 3 outstations and a fibre ring, controlling the operation and synchronisation of the generators, as well as the main MV VCBs and fuel system monitoring.

Installation is scheduled to commence in Q3/Q4 of 2017, with completion of the project expected mid to late 2018.
