Following on from Park House, 62 Buckingham Gate, 123 Victoria, Eastbourne Terrace, 30 Old Bailey and 60 Ludgate Hill, Bells has successfully delivered another Land Securities turnkey generator solution.

The new building at 1 New Street Square, will be the prestigious Head Offices of multinational professional services firm, Deloitte.

Bells was contracted by Skanska SRW to install 2 x FG Wilson P2250-1 400KV tenants generators and 1 x FG Wilson P1000P1 c/w 1700KVA alternator life safety generator within a plant room on Basement Level B2.

The install included a full acoustic/ventilation solution consisting of exhaust silencers, ventilation fans, and inlet and extract attenuation to achieve 62 dB(A) at 1m.

Due to space restrictions, the required airflow couldn’t be achieved within the room for the 3 generators. Therefore each set was fitted with a heat exchanger connected to DAC on the roof level, complete with 20 levels of flow and return pipework and associated cooling pumps/pressurisation units.

A complete fuel system was installed with 72 and 24-hour capacity bulk storage tanks in the adjacent room, with gravity feeding flow and return to the generators.

A PLC system with outstations and a fibre ring was also installed to control the operation of the generators as well as the main LV ACBs, fuel system monitoring and the PMS of the building.
