Bells enters the Walbrook Triangle

In just under one year, Bells has secured three major projects adjacent to each other on London’s Cannon Street, which we’ve dubbed the Walbrook Triangle.

Between them, the three buildings offer an impressive 1.4m sq ft of office/retail space.

On completion of the phased work, Bells will have installed a total of 13.7 MVA of standby diesel generators comprising 3 x P1700P (HV), 3 x P1700P (LV), 2 x P1500P (HV) and 1 x P500P (LV) prime rated generator sets.

Each of the buildings will have complex dual hot/standby PLCs controlling all major MV and LV switches, as well as carrying out power management services (PMS) duties of tenants busbars and tap offs.

Bells provided a complete turnkey service for all of the buildings comprising:

Bloomberg

2 x 1500 kVA (HV) diesel generator sets within a bespoke 62 dB(A) at 1m enclosure; c/w 900 litre day tanks; full hot/standby PLC system; neutral earthing system and multiple outstations controlling all major MV/LV switchgear.

Cannon Place

3 x 1700 kVA (HV) diesel generator sets within a bespoke vibration isolation plant room providing noise reduction to 45dB(A) at 15m; oxidation catalyst exhaust silencer system with 500mm I/D stainless steel flues running to roof termination; 24-hour fuel storage and transfer system; full hot/standby PLC system; neutral earthing system; multiple outstations controlling all major MV/LV switchgear and load shedding of 48 x tenants tap offs.

Walbrook

3 x 1700 kVA diesel generator sets with an acoustic ventilation system designed to provide noise reduction to 65 dB(A) at 1m with all three sets running; exhaust silencer system including 600 I/D stainless steel flues running to roof termination; 24-hour fuel storage and transfer system; full hot/standby PLC system and multiple outstations controlling all major MV/LV switchgear, mains synchronisation and control of CHP unit operation during mains failure condition.
